The Wild Cooke

Lucy is great and her knowledge is extensive. I love her courses and highly recommend them.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Wild Cooke's ancient diets foraging walk at Glencoe Visitor Centre. The setting was glorious but Lucy's warm, engaging and knowledge of her subject kept the focus on the plants at our feet and biolumenescent fungi were as exciting as the views. Nice also to hear about historic and prehistoric events other than military history in Glencoe! I'm now looking forward to a forthcoming Wild Cooke event on seaweeds at Arisaig!

We had been given the course as a Christmas present. The Onich location is excellent with parking. A walk through the woods and down to Bishops bay for seaweed is fabulous with 20 edible plants , flowers and seaweeds. Lucy identifies the poisonous plants and demonstrates that the humble nettle can be made into yarn to weave a scarf as well as being a source of vitamins. Lucy is engaging , humorous and very knowledgable. We finished with herbal cake and tea. Highly recommended! We will be back!

Very interesting and enjoyable session. I learnt a lot about foraging and using seaweed - they aren't plants for a start! Lucy brought examples we could touch and taste and information for further reading

So many wild things to eat! Super interesting will be looking out for future walks with Lucy

We learnt lots and really enjoyed the course

Always interesting looking through Lucy’s eyes at our plants and trees. Ponds today too in Fort William.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect - foraging in February? - but felt it would be a shame to miss it, since it was happening half a mile from where I live. I'm so glad I went! It was really informative, and I'll be looking out for the plants I've learned about. The Wild Cooke is a really good teacher (jokes as well as info) and can be heard easily out of doors. Cake and cordial too! I'm looking forward to doing another group forage before too long.

I thoroughly recommend The Wild Cooke foraging workshops. Lucy is a warm, knowledgeable and entertaining host with the added bonus of being a superlative cook.

I booked a couple of tickets as a gift for a family member, and they had a wonderful time on the course - telling me about all they've learned and about how lovely the group and tutor was! Would recommend this as a great gift!
